2.  PACE Center - Health STDs

3.  Presentation by Lornetta Epps, M.D.  "Sexually Transmitted Diseases" at PACE Center

4.  "Step Up: Make Health a Habit" Poster Contest at PACE

5.  "Teen Obesity" presentation by Nutrition Officers from Health Department

6.  "Teen Pregnancies and Abstinence" by Nutrition Officers of Health Department

 

SERVICES TO YOUTH

1.  Pensacola Links contracts facilitator to conduct ACT Preparation workshop for Nineth Graders

2.  Project Village Outreach Program 

3.  Provided landscaping the new Boys Club

4.  Provided uniforms for Little League football team and Boy Scouts

5.  Provided tickets for indigent youth to attend concerts

6.  Purchased books for "Reading is Fundamental"

7.  Scholarship to Pensacola State College and The University of West Florida

8.  Held NEA'S Read Across America celebration in honor of Dr Seuss' 113th birthday at OJ Semmes Elementary School March 2017 to help create a generation of readers and close the achievement gap for 357 children in PreK-3rd grade. 

9.  "Believers in Achievers" tutoring and mentoring program at four (4) sites:  Dixon School of The Arts, The Life Center-Gregg Chapel AME, Milk & Honey Outreach Ministries After-School Program, and .O.J. Semmes Elementary School

1.  Donated to the African Water Wells Project

2.  Adopted and support two African children

3.  Adopted and supported Ethiopian refugee family in Pensacola

4.  Donated to the Haiti Refugee Center in Miami

5.  Provided Blankets of Hope

6.  Donated the funds to build a primary school in South Africa 

7.  Donated funds to ship books to Africa for primary and Secondary  Schools (2017).

 

HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

1.  Escambia Boys and Girls Club - Conducted workshops on obesity prevention and Wellness.  More...

2.  Emerald Champagne Brunch - Public forum on prevention of adult and childhood obesity and cardiovascular disease. Guest speakers were Dr. Richard Rayford (Jackson, MS Cardiology Associates) and Dr. Edith Rayford (OB/GYN) of Jackson, MS.

3.  Go "Red Dress" Jazz Brunch (Emerald Champagne Brunch renamed Red Dress Jazz Brunch) continues the public forum on cardiovascular disease prevention. This event is held in February in recognition of Heart-Health Month.  Guest speaker Dr. Thanh H. Doung-Wagner of the Pensacola Cardiology Group.
